Spectacular Dantes View

It was well worth a long drive (a lonely road) to Dantes View. This was our last stop on our first day of journey to Death Valley National Park California. It was already 3:30 pm when we left the main road and it took us about 20 minutes to get there. A 13 mile paved road but the last quarter mile is 15% grade. A steep climb up but so beautiful. Vehicles over 25ft or longer are prohibited on this road. Please watch our short video  Road to Dantes View  to see the road.  There were few cars when we arrived at The Dantes View but those people were out exploring around. It wasn't crowded at all in fact we were the only ones there enjoying the 360 degrees of breathtaking view of Death Valley from 5475 ft high above Sea Level.  We didn't stay long because it was windy and cold.  It would have been nice to explore the area but it was also getting late in a day. There was a Bee Hazard caution sign on the road but we didn't even get the change to see any. Maybe it's because we

We had to take some of our plants inside to protect them from freezing weather. We also cover the rest of our plants outside - from Sunday night through Tuesday morning. Crazy summer weather in Fairbanks.

Wildflowers on Birch Hill during Saturday night hike

I dont know all the names of these wildflowers but they sure are pretty. This was during my hike Saturday night with my friends at Birch Hill ski resort at Fort Wainwright Alaska. Lupine Wild rose Wild daisy Strawberry flowers  Rest at the top the the hill with sunflower seeds and boiled peanuts

Annual Picnic at Alaska Salmon Bake

 We always enjoy the picnic, rain or shine,  here at the Alaska Salmon Bake. Eat all you can, wild salmon, beer battered Halibut, and prime ribs.  Good selections of salad bar. For dessert there's lemon bars, brownie, cake, Alaskan blueberries, and strawberry rhubarb, hmm yum! There's also live music. The Local 375 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, throws an annual family picnic here. The restaurant is closed for public during the picnic.

Killing Fungus Gnats off my Office Plants

 Here is my way of killing fungus Gnats off my office plants. It's working! I watered the plants well, then place several paper towel over, then tape it all over. Fungus Gnats are hard to get rid off. Once they started to lay eggs, they quickly multiplied and they start to eat the roots which will end up killing the plants.
