Spectacular Dantes View

Image
It was well worth a long drive (a lonely road) to Dantes View. This was our last stop on our first day of journey to Death Valley National Park California. It was already 3:30 pm when we left the main road and it took us about 20 minutes to get there. A 13 mile paved road but the last quarter mile is 15% grade. A steep climb up but so beautiful. Vehicles over 25ft or longer are prohibited on this road. Please watch our short video  Road to Dantes View  to see the road.  There were few cars when we arrived at The Dantes View but those people were out exploring around. It wasn't crowded at all in fact we were the only ones there enjoying the 360 degrees of breathtaking view of Death Valley from 5475 ft high above Sea Level.  We didn't stay long because it was windy and cold.  It would have been nice to explore the area but it was also getting late in a day. There was a Bee Hazard caution sign on the road but we didn't even get the change to see any. Maybe it's because we

Yesterday and Today

Image
It was such a big change and I was amazed on how much the snow milted and gone for just over night. The first picture was taken yesterday (Thanksgiving Day) and I'm sure there was at least two inches of snow in the ground. But today (Black Friday)  this morning when I looked outside, the snow was gone, gone with the wind . Anyways, I found it interesting so I thought I'd share it with you guys. If you look closer on the first picture, you'll see several birds are in that tree and the squirrel eating.

Happy Thanksgiving

Too many blessings to count but I keep on counting. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

Up for a Ride

Image
These dogs were really up for the ride. They were so happy sticking their heads out and feeling the cold wind blow on their face. Although I found it not safe but they probably will not jump. It was windy cold and this woman was up for a back ride . I found it interesting that this man was wearing shorts even though it was cold, not much snow on the ground but the wind made it so cold. Anyway, he was happily carrying this woman on his back.

Snow and Wind

Image
Friday night, the wind was blowing and snow was falling hard, in an hour we had at least 2 inches of snow in the ground. I am kind of happy to see the snow, it reminded me of Fairbanks Alaska and my friends that I left behind. I guess the snow is staying for a while and the wind still blowing hard but it's okay I'm gonna be busy inside working on the house for this coming week.

House 50% off

Image
I never thought that a house can be sold for 50% off. I found this interesting.

Squirrel Domination

Image
We have been enjoying our new friends in our back yard but I think they're going to get us broke. One bag of squirrel food only lasts for 2 days. Last week we only have one kind of squirrel (Black) but now there's two kinds and this one is so aggressive. They chase away the ones who got close to them even the birds, however, the black squirrels got along well. I guess, discrimination does exist not only for humans but for animals too. I love watching them and could watch them for a long time. It's so funny when they run around and find a place to dig and hide their food. They're so cute but I wonder if they'll do harm in our yard. I'm just getting to know them and don't know much about them. "My life with the squirrel photographs"

Wild Flowering Vines

I love this wild flowering vines but I don't know what it is. If someone knew what it is, please tell me, I would really appreciate it. Thank you "Beauty is everywhere"

Red Maple

People change, season change, everything changes! First thing comes in my mind whenever I see this tree was the song by Sanctus Real "It's time for healing time to move on. It's time to fix what's been broken too long. Time to make right what has been wrong. It's time to find my way to where I belong." Whatever You're doing (something heavenly) by Sanctus Real

Happy Monday

And have a wonderful week. The life of the squirrel and stellar jay in our yard.

Are you worried?

Image
Do not be worry as the bible says in Luke 12: 22-26 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes . Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds !  Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?  Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

What God Wants?

Image
Why do we usually wait for God to show us what he wants for us? Why do we keep asking God to show us what he wants? Doesn't it God already have what he wants? Doesn't it God gave us freewill to do what we wants? Well, I have come to realize that it is my decision to start doing something, to make a difference in my life and others. I believe that He will supply our needs and that He will guide us every step of the way. So, I guess it is up for us to take the  first step and stop waiting for God to show us what he wants for he already have what he wants..Right?

Restless

Image
You dwell in the songs that we are singing Rising to the Heavens Rising to Your heart Our praises filling up the spaces In between and frailty and everything You are You are the keeper of my heart And I’m restless I’m restless ‘Til I rest in You (Oh God, I wanna rest in You) Oh speak now for my soul is listening Say that You have saved me Whisper in the dark ‘Cause I know You’re more than my salvation Without You I am hopeless Tell me who You are You are the keeper of my heart Still my heart Hold me close Let me hear a still small voice Let it grow Let it rise Into a shout Into a cry I am restless until I rest in You Restless by Audrey Assad

Kiteboarding Playground

Image
A playground for kite boarders . A view from our back yard when the weather turns windy and cold. I used to think that when it's rainy and windy outside, it's not a good day. But these kite boarders gave me a new perspective. It is like heaven to them, I think they even pray for the weather to be like that. I love watching them, especially when they jump few feet above the water. I also love watching them when they go so fast, I don't how many miles/hr, but it looks fast that if they're driving like that on the road they'll probably get a big ticket and even get in an accident. I think this sport is good for people who are speed maniacs , they can go as fast as they want and don't get someone hurt, just themselves. Kiteboarding is one of the items on my bucket list. Hopefully I'll get to do it soon. I kind of hesitant though because of the cold weather. To learn more about kiteboarding in Bellingham, here's a site for you  Bellingham Kiteborading

Service Sunday

Image
Yesterday was a Service Sunday at the church that we're attending. Service Sunday is where the congregation goes out to the community and does some community work instead of having a worship gathering in the church. The church does this twice a year. There were dozens of projects that they put out so the congregation can choose from; going to nursing home, cleaning project, winterize project, yard work and so on. My hubby and I had the opportunity to do some yard work for the family that have Lyme disease. I think it's a great thing that the church does this. Last night there's also a Harvest Celebration Dinner. The congregation contributes and bring food to church and we all enjoy it together. "Our vision is to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. We are compiled to serve and give. As a church we exist to restore passion for God and compassion for others." Fall Floral Arrangement

Image
My first Fall floral arrangement and it didn't cost me a thing. I went to Bakerview nursery this afternoon and attended a free seminar for putting Fall arrangement together. When I got home, I went to our back yard and gathered all these leaves and twigs and put them together. So here it is, I guess it's not bad and I'm enjoying it. This morning I had the pleasure of  watching these birds just siting beautifully on the top of this bush.
