Spectacular Dantes View

Image
It was well worth a long drive (a lonely road) to Dantes View. This was our last stop on our first day of journey to Death Valley National Park California. It was already 3:30 pm when we left the main road and it took us about 20 minutes to get there. A 13 mile paved road but the last quarter mile is 15% grade. A steep climb up but so beautiful. Vehicles over 25ft or longer are prohibited on this road. Please watch our short video  Road to Dantes View  to see the road.  There were few cars when we arrived at The Dantes View but those people were out exploring around. It wasn't crowded at all in fact we were the only ones there enjoying the 360 degrees of breathtaking view of Death Valley from 5475 ft high above Sea Level.  We didn't stay long because it was windy and cold.  It would have been nice to explore the area but it was also getting late in a day. There was a Bee Hazard caution sign on the road but we didn't even get the change to see any. Maybe it's because we

Exploring Cape Meares Lighthouse

Watch our little trip to Cape Meares Lighthouse. This is my second time visiting the area and this time I have my son Alan exploring with us, I loved it. Amazing views!  A really good walked down to the lighthouse. The paved path, the trees, and the beautiful views of the pacific coast so amazing that made me so excited to walked down there. Although the lighthouse is closed for the season, I didn't mind that a bit. I was able to walk around the area without crowds, I love it.  When I was done and it was time to head back up (using different path) Geez, that's when I realized it was a long way up. Good thing there are several seating with nice views. It was a good walked up. The trails to Octopus tree was also beautiful. Watch our video to see this beautiful place. A must see!  Nice viewing area overlooking the Arch Rocks. This is just a  few step from the parking lot. Alan and the lighthouse. I love that Fresnel lens, so cool! Paved walk path to the light house with the view o

Fun in the sand behind Fred Meyer store

As we are pulling in to Fred Meyer parking lot today, we saw this nice and amazing sand dunes just behind the store. Alan, Sandy and I went to play while Joel went to shop at the store. Alan had so much fun, just running around and sledding down. Sand sledding instead of snow. Fred Meyer store in Florence, Oregon
