Entering Canada Border from Sumas and our first day driving through British Columbia

After our not so fun trip to the Philippines due to Covid-19 pandemic and got locked down in home quarantine for two months, we are finally back to the US. We stayed in Washington for 2 weeks before we took our trip to Alaska through Canada.

We left Sumas Washington and entered Canada Border around 1130 am of June 15, 2020. It took few minutes to get through the security. There were so many questions and the security was trying to see if we are essential travelers due to Covid-19. But they've finally let us in since we are going back home to Alaska. However, I had to throw out my plants. I didn't know that I can't take soil to Canada but it's good though. Just bought those plants from Fred Meyer.

After a few feet away from the border, we got stopped by Provential Health check security staff of the Province of British Columbia who monitored people coming in and driving through their province. We agreed to register with them so they can monitor us and to make sure we are following their rules due to Covid-19 pandemic. They said that there are people who came and said they are going to Alaska but end up just going out camping and fishing in BC.

Our first stop was in Yale, BC. about 66 miles from the border. A nice rest area with toilets, litter bins, picnic tables and historic sign board. We stopped there for a little bit and ate brunch.

Our second rest stop was at Lytton rest area about 115 miles north of Canada border. After driving through spectacular and awesome views of the Fraser River Canyon and going through
7 tunnels, Joel had to take a rest and napped for an hour.

Alan and his sonic and tails

Our afternoon snack as we continued our trip to the north. Alan asked for it.

Here is where we spent our first night in Canada. Willow Spring's Resort and RV Parks ( Phone: 250-459-7046)  about 191 miles from the border and about 20 miles north of Cache Creek.  It was a nice campground. Full hock ups for $39  Canadian Dollar and we choose to be in front of the lake,  site number 15. It was awesome!

I cooked mong beans with vegetables for our dinner . Joel loves mong beans.
