First Visit to Mambukal Hot Sulphur Springs Resort, Koronadal City before the Covid-19 lockdown

Before the Covid-19 lockdown started in Mindanao Region in Philippines, we had an opportunity to visit Mambukal Hot Sulphur Spring Resort in Koronadal City South Cotabato. We went there to celebrate Joel's birthday. This was our first visit there  and we only spent a night thinking we'd be back again in the next week or so. So glad we were able to visit but so sad we weren't able to go back again due to Corona Virus Pandemic.

How to get there?

The road going to Mambukal Resort is partly rough road and the road gets narrower the closer we get to the resort. The resort is not that far from the city but it feels like I'm in the jungle. Nice and secluded place with lots of greenery.

From the main road of Banga-Koronadal City Road (Coming From Surallah) it was about 5 miles to get there.  Using Bautista G. Hubero Sr. Road we basically just follow the small signs on the road. Also using Google Maps helps too. Here's the Address: Mambukal Hot Sulphur Spring Resort, Barangay Mambukal Koronadal City, South Cotabato 9506

Few minutes after we arrived there, the smell of hot sulphur bothered me. I was thinking, oh no! Can I stay here, can I take the smells all night long? Well, I didn't get used to the smell but I was able to tolerate it.

How much does it cost?

The Bahay Kubo we rented overnight cost 1600 pesos. With that price came 3 free guest then 100 per person additional for nightly rate with the Bahay Kubo.

For regular daily use:

  • Adult P40
  • Senior P30
  • Children 4 years old and below P20
  • Cottage P250
  • Kubo P400

The lady who greeted us was nice, she was friendly and so accommodating.

Bahay Kubo Rentals
Bahay Kubo that we rented. It has restroom, kitchen, bedroom, livingroom, and a cute dining table.

Inside view of Bahay kubo
The bedroom is small and it has small bunk bed. The beds are comfy for 1 person but not for 2. There is an extra foam mattress under the bed as well that we used in the living room floors. The foam mattres in the upper bunk bed we used it on the bedroom floor, that way 2 person can sleep on it instead of just 1. It all worked out.
